Greenbuild 2025: Momentum, Clarity, and the Pursuit of Better
In early November, the largest annual conference and expo for green building professionals in the world took place in Los Angeles. Yes! We are talking about Greenbuild, hosted by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). We had the opportunity to attend Greenbuild, both as exhibitors and attendees, and here's what we heard...
This year, there was a sense of shared clarity. Less about chasing what's next - and more about building toward it together. Conversations felt grounded, energized, and united by a common goal: creating real, lasting impact.
Across the CS booth, the themes were consistent. Circularity. Social Health & Equity. Supply chain decarbonization. Moving from transparency to optimization. These weren't buzzwords - they were the blueprint for how our customers, partners, and peers are reshaping the built environment.
Many Greenbuild conversations affirmed what we've long anticipated: the demand for more sustainable products is accelerating. The drive for healthier, optimized solutions is only gaining momentum. And across the board, there's growing alignment around the need for corporate goals—not just product-level claims—that reflect values, vision, and measurable progress.
At Construction Specialties, these conversations reaffirmed the direction we had already committed to. Our Pursuit of Better isn't just a tagline - it's how we embed progress across every product line, every facility, and every relationship. As we begin sharing more about that journey, including our first company-wide impact report in 2026, it's clear that people are eager to see where we're headed.
What stood out most at Greenbuild wasn't a single trend or announcement—it was the shift in tone. People aren't just asking what a product can do, but instead what types of holistic commitments companies are making. They want to see sustainability strategies that go beyond checkboxes. They want alignment - with purpose, performance, and values.
As standards evolve – LEED V5, Cradle to Cradle v4.1, and more - there's a collective sense that this isn't about jumping through hoops. It's about moving toward smarter, more impactful design. That direction felt consistent across the floor: more momentum, greater clarity, and more collaboration than ever before.
