Inside the 2026 EJS Installer Workshop
For more than 10 years, we have hosted an annual Installer Workshop to teach our customers about expansion joints and, hopefully, simplify installation for them. The 2026 EJS Installer Workshop welcomed 30 attendees—four CS representatives and 26 installers—from 11 companies for two days of technical instruction, hands-on learning, and industry connection. Sessions at a hotel conference center and the Pennsylvania College of Technology’s concrete lab to give participants opportunities to develop practical skills, learn from experienced specialists, and see manufacturing operations firsthand.
Workshop Highlights
Product Specialist Scott Boyer led instruction again this year, training attendees on installation methods and field-tested best practices. Participants also toured our Muncy manufacturing facility with Production Supervisor Troy Cover, gaining a closer look at the operations behind CS products and the systems discussed during the workshop.
This year’s training covered the installation of thermal and seismic expansion joint covers, fire barriers, and practical concrete repair techniques. Participants also worked through effective approaches to unexpected field conditions, reinforcing the problem-solving skills needed to navigate complex installations.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
We look forward to this workshop every year in large part because of how interactive it is, and we’re happy to say that 2026 was no different—participants stayed engaged throughout the program, and we’ve heard overwhelmingly positive feedback, citing the combination of technical instruction, hands-on practice, and peer connection.
After the day’s sessions, attendees continued their conversations during dinner and an evening cruise on the Susquehanna.
We hope that by combining technical guidance with practical experience and professional connections, our Installer Workshop gave participants tools and insights they can carry into future projects. Until next year!
