SPECS took place at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine Texas. If you have never been, it is like a city within a city with over 100 acres of green space, water parks, a marina, spa, and then the hotel and convention center (which was so large we will not admit the amount of times we got lost). With such a grandiose stage being set, we were eager to see how the show measured in comparison.
There were rows and rows of exhibitors showing their latest and greatest products and service innovations, and an equal amount of participants exploring the show. Those exhibiting covered a broad spectrum of products and services for retail. From whole building generators, to flooring manufacturers and plumbing services - there was something there for everyone.
The CS booth did not disappoint! It featured our wall protection - highlighting our Acrovyn by Design® custom imagery in a variety of retail specific designs, dimensional moldings paired with contrasting sheet, and our Helix® entrance flooring. There was a consistent flow of traffic in and out of the booth and it was great to see our National Accounts team in action!
We had the opportunity to attend a few of the break out sessions, with our favorite being “Women in Retail." It was so insightful and encouraging to see women in the industry supporting each other, sharing successes, challenging the definition of failure, and learning from each other’s experiences. CS co-sponsored a silent disco one night, and it was such a blast! Upon entering, guests were given a set of headphones and could select the channel of tunes from DJ #1 or DJ#2. It was a great way to meet teams of people and network outside of the standard exhibit hall and breakout sessions.
Overall, it was a great show and something we encourage all retailers to participate in. We had a wonderful time meeting a few of our retail customers and spending some time with our awesome National Accounts Sales Team.
