Renovating an icon
Madison Square Garden is dubbed "the world’s most famous arena" for a reason—or several. The 50-year-old drum-shaped sports and entertainment venue sits in the heart of midtown Manhattan atop North America’s busiest railroad station.
But because BBB Architects' $1 billion interior and exterior renovation included enhancements to MSG’s HVAC and air-intake systems, it also needed a better airflow solution. For an ordinary arena, an ordinary louver system might have worked just fine. But they don’t call it the "world’s most ordinary arena."See more examples of what we have done for others
Project: Madison Square Garden
Architect: BBB Architects
Product: Customized RSV-5700
To address these challenges, BBB worked with Construction Specialties to make a curved version of its vertical RSV-5700 Storm-Resistant Louver and test the new form in-house for air flow and storm resistance. The radiused louvers were then prefabricated and shipped to the customer's Long Island facility to be delivered to the arena as needed.Tell us about your project

Knowing how building louvers will perform is critical to ensuring that it will stand up to real-life conditions on the job. We have our own on-site test chamber that allows us to test to AMCA louver standards.
Cradle to Cradle
CS is pleased to introduce the first louvers system to be certified by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
