When C/S created the industry's
first aluminum louver in 1948 it
was designed for one purpose: to
provide air exchange for the
building's occupants and
mechanical equipment.

All louvers let air get into buildings, but the problem is they also let rain
in, and if there is sensitive equipment behind the louvers it can get ruined.

Over the years C/S and other louver manufacturers developed a lot of
louvers intended to stop rain, and
in the still air tests conducted by AMCA, many of these louvers seemed
effective at stopping water.
But those tests didn't account for wind driven rain.

In 1993, C/S built America's first
wind driven rain test chamber. Our
engineers now test all C/S Louvers
under real world conditions. The
result–Storm Resistant Louvers that
keep 100% of water out of buildings.

C/S Storm Resistant Louvers are
20 times more effective at stopping rain than conventional louvers. All
of our Storm Resistant Louvers meet BSRIA, HEVAC and AMCA wind driven rain test standards.
