When selecting an expansion joint cover system, it is important to consider the location and usage before a selection is made. Generally the floor cover application is the element most affected by intended usage. We recommend starting with the floor cover and progressing to walls, ceilings, and exterior applications.

All-metal covers are resilient and can withstand high-traffic. Heavy-duty covers can tolerate substantial weight that could occur in environments such as airports.
Some cover systems can be made tamper-resistant by utilizing special fasteners, or by choosing a system with no exposed fasteners.
When an expansion or seismic joint passes through a fire-rated structure, it is necessary to maintain the fire integrity of that structure. Current building codes require fire barriers to limit the passing of heat and flame for 2, 3 and sometimes 4 hours. Fire barriers can be used with most floor and wall joint cover systems*.
*PLEASE NOTE: It is important to ensure that fire and moisture barriers do not impede the movement of the joint.
Cover systems that utilize a gasket are easy to clean and maintain, and are ideal for sterile environments like hospitals.
Water penetration into your building leaves it susceptible to issues such as mold. A moisture barrier can be incorporated into many standard cover systems* to prevent water from getting inside the joint.
