C/S re-engineered Acrovyn® to eliminate PVC from our entire line of products, including our wall coverings and doors. Acrovyn 4000’s modified polyester formula contains no PBTs (persistent bioaccumulative toxins), no BPA (bisphenol A) or any halogenated fire-retardants to achieve its UL Class A/1 tested and labeled fire rating. MBDC Cradle to Cradle^CM Gold or Silver certified, Acrovyn 4000 is recyclable and it costs no more than original Acrovyn.

After a thorough analysis by MBDC, C/S Acrovyn 4000 wall guards are C2C Certified Gold or Silver (refer to color charts and certification results for details). Acrovyn 4000 wall covering is currently C2C Certified Silver; after reformulating and testing adhesive, solid colored sheet will be C2C Certified Gold.

In re-engineering Acrovyn®, C/S decided to create a new contemporary texture that was less institutional, that provided better end cap to profile match and would be easier to clean. In a recent survey architects and owners overwhelmingly agree that the new, less pronounced texture accomplishes all three goals. Acrovyn wall guards are offered in the Shadowgrain texture at right, and our wall covering is offered in Suede texture.

Acrovyn® 4000's low profile texture was designed to look more contemporary, but it also has the added benefit of being easier to clean than original Acrovyn's Pebblette texture. And our new texture is substantial enough that it will hide scrapes and scuffs in high traffic areas.

Impact tests on new Acrovyn® 4000 prove it has the same impact resistance as original Acrovyn. In addition to new Acrovyn 4000's durable covers, many of our handrail and crash rail profiles contain rugged, shock-absorbing bumpers to prevent walls from being damaged.

Completely reengineered new Acrovyn 4000 is more environmentally-friendly; offers a new contemporary texture and best end cap match; is easy to clean and costs the same as original Acrovyn and other PVC alternatives. Competitors can no longer use cost to try to switch projects to their products containing potentially harmful chemicals.
