Texas A&M’s ILSB was designed to LEED® Silver standards. As part of an overall day-lighting system, Perkins + Will incorporated C/S Lightshelves onto the oversized windows throughout the labs to help draw-in yet diffuse the natural sunlight. This system reduces lighting costs while creating a more comfortable environment for its world-class researchers. As the first sustainable building on the A&M campus, the ILSB will serve as a benchmark for the University.
